Construction Supervisor

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Supervisor to lead and oversee all site operations for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and established timelines. This position requires a proactive leader who can effectively coordinate subcontractors, supervise site teams, monitor progress, and support the successful and timely delivery of projects. The Construction Supervisor will serve as a critical link between project management, field teams, and stakeholders to maintain operational excellence and compliance throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

The Construction Supervisor will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:

• Site Operations Management: Oversee daily construction activities to ensure alignment with project specifications, schedules, and quality benchmarks. Monitor progress and address any deviations promptly to maintain project momentum.
• Subcontractor Coordination: Direct and supervise subcontractors to ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved methods and contractual obligations. Facilitate seamless collaboration between internal teams and external partners.
• Resource and Material Management: Ensure timely requisition and availability of materials, tools, and equipment to support uninterrupted project execution. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate logistics to prevent delays.
• Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations and company safety policies to minimize incidents and maintain a secure working environment. Investigate and report all site incidents in compliance with established procedures.
• Technical Oversight: Supervise critical construction activities such as excavation, dewatering, shoring, foundation works, concrete works, masonry, carpentry, brickwork, backfilling, pipe laying, chamber construction, and shuttering. Ensure adherence to approved construction methods and safety requirements.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical challenges and site-related issues. Serve as a liaison to facilitate effective communication and alignment across all project stakeholders.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct progressive punch listing to identify outstanding works and ensure all deficiencies are addressed prior to project handover. Verify compliance with quality standards and specifications throughout the construction process.
• Workforce Management: Monitor workforce attendance, productivity, and performance to optimize resource utilization. Conduct toolbox talks and daily pre-start meetings to reinforce safety awareness and promote clear communication among team members.
• HSE and Continuous Improvement: Support the implementation of HSE initiatives and contribute to incident reporting, corrective actions, and ongoing improvement efforts. Foster a culture of safety and operational excellence across the site.
• Equipment and Resource Stewardship: Ensure proper maintenance, utilization, and accountability of construction equipment and site resources. Implement best practices to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with a specialization in Civil or Architectural fields.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on construction experience, including at least 5 years in a Construction Supervisor or similar site supervision role. Experience with large-scale building and infrastructure projects is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of construction methods, material specifications, and construction equipment. Solid understanding of HSE regulations, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures, and risk management principles.
• Leadership and Coordination: Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams, ensuring cohesive and efficient project execution.
• Project Management Skills: Experience in project planning, cost control, and construction site management. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with a preference for SAP experience.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic construction environment.
• Regional Experience: GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) experience is considered a valuable asset.
