As a Field Service Engineer, you will operate at the forefront of HV technology, working closely with cross-functional teams to execute projects with precision and professionalism. Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a wide range of critical activities, including but not limited to:

• On-Site Execution: Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of Hitachi Energy’s high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), gas circuit breakers (GCB), load-break switches (LTB), disconnecting circuit breakers (DTB), and other specialized HV equipment. Ensure adherence to project timelines, technical specifications, and industry best practices.
• Technical Expertise: Perform comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of HV products at customer sites, identifying defects and implementing corrective measures. Collaborate with internal teams to determine whether repairs can be executed on-site or require factory intervention, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
• Tool and Equipment Management: Coordinate with the tools management department to procure, maintain, and utilize Hitachi Energy’s specialized HV test equipment and tools. Ensure all resources are properly managed, calibrated, and deployed efficiently for project success.
• Project Collaboration: Work in tandem with the Project Management team to align with project requirements, deadlines, and regulatory compliance. Act as a liaison between contractors, sub-contractors, and clients to streamline resource allocation and resolve operational challenges.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed site reports, activity plans, and resource requirements, sharing them with stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability. Submit accurate time sheets, expense reports, and travel authorizations in accordance with company policies.
• Safety and Integrity: Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity by adhering to all internal and external regulations. Promptly report any safety or integrity incidents to the appropriate authorities and foster a culture of accountability and professionalism.
• Client Engagement: Interface with clients to obtain approvals (e.g., PAC or time sheets) for completed tasks, ensuring seamless invoicing processes. Represent Hitachi Energy with professionalism, building trust and long-term partnerships with stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, is required. Formal certifications in HV systems or related disciplines are a significant advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: A minimum of 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in high-voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgear systems, HV switchgear protection and control, and monitoring/measurement devices. Prior experience in utilities or industrial environments is highly valued.
• Multilingual Communication: Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is essential to effectively engage with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders across regions.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team in dynamic environments. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.
