NOC Monitoring Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and vigilant NOC Monitoring Specialist to join our esteemed IT partner organization in Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to maintaining the operational integrity of a large-scale monitoring program supporting a major government entity. As a NOC Monitoring Specialist, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical infrastructure systems, operating within a structured, rotating team to provide 24/7 coverage.

Core Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health of a diverse range of infrastructure components, including network systems, servers, databases, storage solutions, and virtualization environments. Additionally, you will oversee smart data center facilities, such as power distribution units, cooling systems, generators, and backup systems (UPS/batteries), to ensure uninterrupted operations. Your duties will include:

• Real-time monitoring of network, server, database, and storage environments to detect anomalies or potential issues.
• Continuous oversight of smart facility systems, including power, cooling, generators, and UPS/battery units, to preemptively identify and address operational risks.
• Prompt detection, logging, and escalation of incidents in strict adherence to established procedures and protocols.
• Facilitating seamless shift handover by maintaining clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation for incoming teams.
• Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve complex technical issues and restore optimal system performance.

Technical Competencies

To excel in this role, you should possess a solid foundation in infrastructure monitoring and the following technical skills:

• Proficiency with industry-standard monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, and Grafana.
• Basic understanding of server and virtualization environments, particularly VMware, to assess system health and performance.
• Familiarity with database health monitoring concepts, including SQL Server and Oracle, to identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Fundamental knowledge of network fundamentals and connectivity monitoring to ensure robust network performance.
• Awareness of data center facility systems, including UPS, generators, and cooling mechanisms, is considered advantageous.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a structured rotating shift schedule to maintain round-the-clock monitoring coverage. Shift handover processes are designed to ensure seamless transitions and minimize operational disruptions.
