Temporary Audit Specialist – Capital Projects (2-Month Contract)

Müller’s Solutions, a leading provider of specialized consulting and project management services in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a highly motivated Temporary Audit Specialist to support our Capital Project Audit team for a fixed-term engagement of two months. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in financial auditing, project accounting, and compliance assessment, particularly within capital-intensive industries. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance of our clients’ capital project expenditures, financial controls, and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Compliance Review: Conduct thorough audits of capital project expenditures, verifying adherence to contractual agreements, regulatory standards, and internal policies. Assess the accuracy of financial records, invoices, and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies or potential risks.
• Project Accounting Evaluation: Analyze project accounting systems and processes to ensure proper allocation of costs, compliance with accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and alignment with project budgets. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify financial, operational, or compliance-related risks associated with capital projects. Develop and implement audit procedures to mitigate these risks, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and external auditors to gather documentation, clarify findings, and facilitate the resolution of audit issues. Maintain clear and professional communication throughout the audit process.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans. Ensure all documentation is well-organized, accessible, and compliant with audit standards and client requirements.
• Regulatory and Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on relevant financial regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends in capital project auditing. Apply this knowledge to enhance the quality and relevance of audit deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial auditing, project accounting, or capital project management, with a focus on audit functions. Experience in the construction, energy, or infrastructure sectors is a strong advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of audit software (e.g., ACL, IDEA), ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret complex financial data. Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and propose effective solutions.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
• Adaptability and Time Management: Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
