Role Overview

As a Wet Utilities Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of civil works for infrastructure projects, ensuring strict adherence to approved designs, specifications, and quality standards. This position requires close collaboration with contractors, stakeholders, and project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes within defined timelines and budgets. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining project integrity, safety, and compliance with local regulations while driving the successful completion of critical infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Supervision: Oversee the implementation of civil works, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards to maintain the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
• Site Inspections and Assessments: Conduct thorough site inspections to verify the quality of executed work and ensure alignment with approved designs, identifying any discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Review and document site delivery orders, construction progress, and material compliance. Prepare and submit detailed daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to stakeholders, maintaining comprehensive project documentation for transparency and accountability.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Monitor contractor performance and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring seamless project execution and minimizing disruptions.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all civil works adhere to local regulations, codes, and standards, mitigating risks and ensuring project legality and safety.
• Technical Support: Assist in the preparation and review of technical studies, material specifications, and cost estimates, providing expert input to optimize project outcomes.
• Quality Assurance: Work closely with QA/QC teams to implement robust quality assurance measures, addressing non-conformance issues and upholding the highest standards of workmanship.
• Project Meetings: Participate in project meetings to provide updates, technical insights, and strategic recommendations, fostering effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with stringent HSE requirements, prioritizing the well-being of workers and the protection of the environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supervising civil engineering projects, with a strong focus on infrastructure and construction.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in project practices, standards, and specifications, coupled with a deep understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and testing procedures.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local regulations, codes, and engineering standards, ensuring compliance and minimizing legal and operational risks.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders and the preparation of clear, concise technical reports.
