In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing mission-critical financial application environments that operate around the clock. Core Responsibilities

As a Database Administrator, you will play a central role in administering and enhancing our database infrastructure. The role is primarily focused on Apache Cassandra (~70% of responsibilities), with significant involvement in Oracle Database management (~30%). Your duties will include:

• Cassandra Administration: Manage, tune, and optimize production Apache Cassandra clusters to ensure high availability and performance. This includes capacity planning, repair operations, compaction management, and executing zero-downtime upgrades to maintain uninterrupted service.
• Oracle Database Support: Provide comprehensive support for Oracle Database environments, including monitoring system health, applying critical patches, managing RMAN backups, and troubleshooting performance issues to uphold optimal database functionality.
• Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts with a focus on rapid resolution and root-cause analysis under strict SLA constraints. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime and restoring service swiftly during critical events.
• Documentation & Compliance: Develop, maintain, and update runbooks, change records, and ITIL-aligned documentation to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to best practices in database administration.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a seasoned Database Administrator with a proven track record in managing high-performance database environments. The ideal candidate will possess:

• Extensive Experience: A minimum of five years in database administration, with at least three years of hands-on experience administering Apache Cassandra in production environments.
• Oracle Proficiency: Working knowledge of Oracle Database versions ranging from 10g to 19c, including familiarity with database architecture, SQL tuning, and performance optimization.
• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting to automate tasks, streamline operations, and enhance system efficiency.
• Industry Background: Prior experience in banking, fintech, or financial services environments is highly desirable, as it demonstrates an understanding of the unique demands and regulatory requirements of the financial sector.
• Certifications & Qualifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification or ITIL Foundation certification is considered a valuable asset and will be taken into consideration during the selection process.
