Position Overview

The Polysomnography Technologist II plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders by leveraging advanced technology and specialized expertise in sleep studies. This position is essential in conducting comprehensive sleep evaluations, ensuring accurate data collection, and assisting in the development of personalized treatment plans for patients. The role requires a high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform polysomnography procedures, including overnight sleep studies, to monitor and record physiological parameters such as brain waves, oxygen levels, heart rate, and breathing patterns.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated sleep diagnostic equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and adherence to safety protocols.
• Assess patient needs and provide compassionate care throughout the sleep study process, addressing any concerns or questions with professionalism.
• Analyze sleep study data to identify abnormalities or disorders, and prepare detailed reports for review by sleep medicine physicians.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in sleep medicine and polysomnography technology.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited institution.
• Possess a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in polysomnography or a related field.
• Have successfully completed a Polysomnography program with documented proficiency in sleep study techniques.
• Hold a valid Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS), demonstrating competency in emergency response procedures.
