Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure Engineer to assume a pivotal leadership role in driving the design, implementation, and governance of robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions. This position demands a high level of technical expertise, strategic oversight, and accountability to ensure infrastructure excellence across all project phases. The ideal candidate will serve as the authoritative figure in infrastructure-related decisions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions that align with business objectives and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Authority & Ownership

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will act as the primary authority for infrastructure within assigned projects, assuming full ownership of all infrastructure-related decisions, validations, and outcomes. This includes ensuring that all solutions are meticulously aligned with business requirements, technical standards, and long-term sustainability goals. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks while maintaining a strong focus on delivering value-driven infrastructure outcomes.

Project Delivery Leadership

This position is responsible for leading the infrastructure scope across all project phases, encompassing design, implementation, validation, and closure. The engineer will ensure that project delivery adheres to agreed-upon timelines, milestones, and quality benchmarks. By proactively identifying potential risks and enforcing corrective actions, the candidate will play a critical role in maintaining project momentum and achieving successful outcomes.

Vendor Governance & Control

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will take full ownership of technical engagement with vendors and system integrators, ensuring that all interactions are governed by accountability and adherence to contractual and technical obligations. This includes reviewing, challenging, and approving vendor deliverables to guarantee alignment with project requirements and organizational standards.

Design Assurance & Governance

A key aspect of this role involves reviewing and approving architecture designs, High-Level Designs (HLDs), and Low-Level Designs (LLDs). The engineer will ensure consistency, completeness, and adherence to established standards while identifying design gaps, conflicts, and risks. By driving resolution and enforcing governance, the candidate will contribute to the delivery of robust and reliable infrastructure solutions.

Cross-Domain Coordination

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will facilitate seamless alignment between infrastructure, applications, and security domains. This includes validating system integration readiness and addressing project dependencies to ensure cohesive and efficient project execution. The role requires strong collaboration skills to bridge gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Handover & Delivery Closure

Ensuring a smooth transition from project delivery to operations is a critical responsibility. The engineer will validate the completeness of all infrastructure deliverables prior to handover, ensuring readiness for transition to operations teams. This includes overseeing proper documentation, knowledge transfer, and compliance with closure protocols to guarantee long-term operational success.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on leading infrastructure delivery within complex projects.

Technical Expertise

• Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with infrastructure technologies, including:
• Network architecture (routing, switching, and security)
• Systems, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure platforms
• Strong understanding of:
• Infrastructure design and architecture principles
• Integration dependencies across systems
• Security and segmentation concepts

Leadership & Delivery

• Proven track record in owning and delivering infrastructure scope within large-scale projects.
• Extensive experience in managing vendors and enforcing delivery quality standards.
• Ability to operate independently with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.

Governance & Standards

• Extensive experience in conducting design reviews, validation, and enforcing technical standards.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and regulatory frameworks.
