Planning Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful execution of pump manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and service projects. Your expertise in project scheduling, progress tracking, and stakeholder coordination will be instrumental in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules for pump repair, manufacturing, testing, and site service activities using advanced planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software.
• Work Planning & Coordination: Create detailed work plans, timelines, and progress tracking reports in alignment with project objectives, ensuring seamless collaboration with project managers, workshop teams, procurement, engineering, quality, and service departments.
• Progress Monitoring: Continuously track project progress against approved schedules, proactively identifying potential delays, risks, and corrective actions to mitigate disruptions and maintain project momentum.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and distribute accurate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including look-ahead schedules and project status updates, to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Milestone Tracking: Monitor critical project milestones such as material procurement, machining, assembly, inspection, testing, packing, and delivery to ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Resource Management: Support resource planning efforts by coordinating manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontracted activities to optimize project execution.
• Change Impact Analysis: Assess schedule impacts arising from scope changes, material delays, customer requirements, or technical challenges, providing actionable insights to project teams.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous project records, planning documents, and schedule updates in compliance with company quality, safety, and operational standards for internal and customer reporting.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in project review meetings, offering strategic planning inputs to support informed decision-making and enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Citizenship: Must be a Saudi citizen.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project planning, with a strong preference for candidates with exposure to pumps, rotating equipment, manufacturing, repair, or oil and gas service environments.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of pump components, repair processes, workshop operations, and project execution stages.
• Planning Tools: Proficiency in using Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel for scheduling, reporting, and analysis.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and follow-up skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; additional proficiency in Arabic is considered a valuable asset.
• Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy in reporting and documentation to ensure project integrity and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following experience and skills will enhance your candidacy:

• Hands-on experience in pump repair, overhaul, manufacturing, or aftermarket service projects.
• Familiarity with API pumps, centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, motors, and related rotating equipment.
• Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, or industrial customer environments.
• Knowledge of project controls, cost tracking, and delay analysis methodologies.
