Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, code, test, and deploy high-performance Java applications that meet the specific requirements of banking systems, including core banking, payment processing, and financial reporting solutions.
• System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Java-based applications with existing banking platforms, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and security across all systems.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and enhance the performance of Java applications to meet stringent banking industry standards, including low-latency processing, high availability, and fault tolerance.
• Security Compliance: Implement robust security measures in line with industry regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, or local banking standards) to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Code Review and Maintenance: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, maintainability, and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
• Collaboration and Mentorship: Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, product managers, and other developers, to gather requirements and deliver solutions. Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality, security, and performance of Java applications. Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve defects promptly.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including system architecture, API specifications, and deployment procedures, to facilitate smooth operations and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE) are a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Java (Java 8/11/17), Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security), and RESTful web services. Experience with microservices architecture is highly desirable.
• Banking Domain Knowledge: Proven experience in developing applications for the banking or financial services sector, including familiarity with core banking systems, payment gateways, or financial transaction processing.
• Database Management: Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Proficiency in SQL and database optimization techniques is essential.
• Cloud and DevOps: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and business requirements.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
