Position Overview

Hays is collaborating with a distinguished Management Consultancy firm based in Riyadh to recruit a highly motivated Financial Coordinator / Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This pivotal role is designed to provide comprehensive support across a broad spectrum of accounting functions, including accounts payable, vendor payment processing, employee expense reviews, bank reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliation support. Initially, the position will focus on enhancing the financial operations of the Saudi Arabia office, with the potential for expanded responsibilities as the regional operating model evolves. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Coordinator will be responsible for executing a variety of critical financial tasks to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the company’s accounting processes. The role encompasses the following core responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Vendor Management:
    • Enter and process vendor invoices in Zoho, ensuring timely and accurate approvals.
    • Review invoices for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to approval protocols.
    • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable processes, from invoice receipt to payment execution.
    • Maintain and update vendor master data, including onboarding new vendors and resolving discrepancies.
    • Address and resolve vendor inquiries and payment-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Payment Processing:
    • Prepare and export vendor payment lists in accordance with internal controls and approval requirements.
    • Coordinate payment runs with local and regional finance stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations.
    • Provide support for treasury and banking administration activities as needed.
  • Expense Review & Employee Costs:
    • Review and approve employee expense records, ensuring compliance with company policies and approval processes.
    • Validate expense postings and ensure accurate accounting entries in SAP.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, missing documentation, or policy exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Reconciliations & Month-End Support:
    • Perform detailed bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
    • Support intercompany reconciliations across APAC entities, resolving discrepancies and maintaining alignment.
    • Assist with month-end close activities and balance sheet reviews to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Fixed Asset & Accounting Operations:
    • Execute monthly amortisation and depreciation postings to maintain accurate financial records.
    • Support the maintenance of fixed asset records and schedules in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
    • Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
  • Process Improvement & Regional Collaboration:
    • Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of finance processes across the APAC region.
    • Collaborate with local finance teams and shared service stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Document finance processes and internal controls to support compliance and transparency.
    • Provide assistance on ad hoc finance and accounting projects as required by the business.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounts payable, general accounting, or operational finance.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP and Zoho, is highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a professional services or multi-entity environment is essential to navigate the complexities of this role.
