Laundry Associate - Wardrobe

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a meticulous and highly organized Laundry Associate – Wardrobe to join our esteemed Housekeeping and Laundry Department. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the wardrobe and uniform management system, ensuring that all associates receive clean, well-maintained, and properly fitted uniforms in accordance with luxury hospitality standards and hotel protocols. Your responsibilities will directly contribute to upholding the hotel’s professional presentation standards and enhancing the overall guest experience by maintaining a seamless and efficient wardrobe operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Uniform Management and Distribution: Issue, receive, inspect, and store associate uniforms while ensuring strict adherence to brand standards and hotel procedures. Coordinate the timely distribution of uniforms to new associates and collect uniforms from departing associates, maintaining their condition and arranging necessary repairs.
• Quality Control and Inspection: Receive, sort, and verify the condition of all uniforms returned from the outsourced laundry. Conduct thorough inspections to ensure cleanliness, pressing standards, and quantity accuracy. Report any discrepancies or issues, such as unremovable stains or damage, to the Laundry Supervisor or Tailor for immediate resolution.
• Inventory and Stock Management: Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing uniforms, ensuring proper documentation and tracking. Monitor stock levels of uniforms, laundry supplies, and related materials to prevent shortages. Prepare and dispatch uniforms for outsourced laundry services, following established procedures and ensuring timely follow-up for returns.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Housekeeping office, Laundry Supervisor, Tailor, and other departments to ensure smooth wardrobe operations. Liaise with the current wardrobe supplier to address orders, issues, or discrepancies, providing clear and detailed handovers in the handover book when necessary. Keep associates and their managers informed of any delays or problems that may impact uniform availability.
• Administrative Duties: Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including daily logs, inventory records, and monthly invoice divisions. Verify the accuracy of outsourced laundry invoices before submission, ensuring proper coding and departmental allocation. Address associate queries and concerns regarding uniforms or wardrobe services.
• Facility Maintenance and Safety: Maintain the wardrobe room and associated areas in immaculate condition, adhering to hygiene and safety standards. Conduct regular sweeps of locker rooms to identify and retrieve any misplaced wardrobe items, ensuring they are properly laundered and returned to circulation. Secure the wardrobe room by informing the Housekeeping office of any absences and leaving the key as required.
• Training and Support: Assist in training new housekeeping team members on uniform procedures and wardrobe operations. Provide guidance on garment care and maintenance to associates to promote longevity and professional presentation.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in basic measurement techniques and garment inspection is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with associates and management. Prior experience in laundry, wardrobe management, or a related field within the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
