The Consultant Anesthesia role is responsible for providing expert consultation and administering anesthesia using a full range of methods and techniques. This position ensures high-quality patient care, maintains professional standards, and provides effective leadership within the department.

• Provides consultation and administers anesthesia, maintaining professional performance in accordance with medical ethics, hospital bylaws, and Ministry of Health regulations.
• Leads the department, maintaining a quality plan using measurable performance improvement standards in anesthesiology.
• Ensures superior quality of medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for every patient.
• Administers or advises anesthesia administration, maintains patient records, and discusses high-risk patients with concerned consultants.
• Monitors patients post-operatively, supervises controlled drugs, and takes therapeutic measures in emergency situations.
• Provides consultation to other medical specialties, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and assesses patients for referral.
• Participates in on-call rotas, responds to emergencies, and upholds patient rights.
• Maintains accurate patient records and provides leadership for performance improvement functions.
• Actively participates in continued medical education and training programs.
