Civil Engineer Inspector

Role Overview

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Civil Engineer Inspector to join our team and play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and oversight of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities adhere to engineering plans, safety regulations, and quality standards. This position requires a strong technical background in civil engineering, hands-on experience in site inspections, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• On-Site Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with engineering plans, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily inspection activities, prepare detailed inspection reports, and communicate findings to senior engineers and project stakeholders. Document any non-conformities or issues and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Review and Verification: Assist in reviewing construction drawings, blueprints, and project documentation to ensure alignment with project specifications. Verify that materials and workmanship meet the required standards and approved procedures.
• Contractor Coordination: Monitor contractor performance and verify work progress to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and facilitate smooth project execution.
• Testing and Commissioning Support: Participate in testing and commissioning activities to ensure that all project components meet the specified performance and safety criteria. Provide support during the final stages of project delivery to ensure compliance with all regulatory and client requirements.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction activities and materials adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Report any deviations or non-conformities to the appropriate authorities and follow up to ensure corrective measures are taken.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and relevant industry standards. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications with precision.
• Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with local and international codes, standards, and regulations governing civil engineering and construction projects. Commitment to ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements.
• Communication and Reporting: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise inspection reports. Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
• Technical Proficiency: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with construction management software are advantageous. Willingness to adapt to new technologies and tools as required.
