Resident Mechanical Engineer - Major Residential Development Project, Riyadh

HanmiGlobal Saudi Arabia invites an experienced Resident Mechanical Engineer to join its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a significant residential development project in Riyadh. The successful candidate will oversee all mechanical engineering activities during construction, ensuring compliance with contract documents, applicable codes, quality standards, and project schedules.

• Supervise mechanical construction activities, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, LPG, and associated systems
• Review and approve contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements
• Coordinate mechanical works with other disciplines to resolve interface issues
• Monitor construction progress and verify compliance with the approved project programme
• Lead mechanical inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system performance verification
• Review and approve inspection records, test reports, commissioning documentation, and as-built drawings
• Identify construction issues and recommend practical engineering solutions
• Monitor contractor performance and recommend corrective actions
• Participate in technical meetings, progress meetings, and coordination workshops
• Support commercial evaluations related to variations, claims, and technical assessments
• Ensure full compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and project governance requirements
• Prepare technical reports and provide regular updates to project management

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Minimum 5 years in a Resident Mechanical Engineer or similar supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, IPC, and other relevant international standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering management software
• Knowledge of project planning and construction sequencing
• Strong leadership, decision-making, coordination, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
