Site Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Engineer to join our dynamic team and oversee critical infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, highways, and other essential construction works. In this pivotal role, you will play a central part in ensuring that all construction activities are executed in strict adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality benchmarks, safety protocols, and project timelines. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of workmanship while fostering a safe and efficient construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Site Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Construction Supervision: Oversee and manage day-to-day construction activities related to roads, bridges, highways, and infrastructure projects to ensure seamless execution and alignment with project objectives.
• Plan and Specification Review: Thoroughly examine and validate approved drawings, method statements, technical specifications, and project requirements prior to initiating site operations to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
• Quality and Safety Compliance: Monitor contractors’ work meticulously to guarantee adherence to approved plans, stringent quality standards, and rigorous safety procedures, thereby safeguarding both personnel and project integrity.
• Technical Inspections: Conduct comprehensive inspections of earthworks, excavation, subgrade preparation, asphalt and concrete placement, drainage systems, utility installations, and structural components to verify compliance with design and regulatory standards.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate seamless collaboration with contractors, consultants, surveyors, inspectors, and other key stakeholders to ensure cohesive project execution and timely resolution of any arising issues.
• Progress Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed daily and weekly site progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and corrective actions to maintain transparency and accountability.
• Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and escalate site-related issues, including delays, quality concerns, and technical discrepancies, to the Project Manager for prompt intervention and resolution.
• Work Verification: Validate completed work and material quantities against approved drawings and project specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Material and Documentation Management: Ensure that all materials utilized on-site meet approved specifications and quality standards, while maintaining meticulous records of inspections, approvals, and corrective actions.
• Meeting Participation: Attend and actively contribute to site meetings, assisting in the implementation of agreed-upon actions and strategies to drive project success.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain precise and up-to-date site records, reports, inspection documents, and supporting files to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Project Timelines: Monitor and ensure that all site activities are completed within the approved schedule, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing proactive measures to mitigate delays.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in construction supervision or site execution, with a strong focus on roads, bridges, highways, or infrastructure projects.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of civil construction methodologies, interpretation of engineering drawings, and adherence to technical specifications.
• Quality and Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of quality control processes, safety regulations, and site inspection protocols to uphold industry standards.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strong coordination and reporting skills to facilitate effective collaboration with diverse project stakeholders.
• Technical Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD to support project documentation, reporting, and design interpretation.
• Regional Experience: Prior work experience in the GCC region or Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous, given the unique challenges and requirements of such projects.
• Professional Registration: Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers or relevant professional body is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to industry standards and ethical practices.
