The Presales Expert (HSSE & Sustainability)

About the Role

As a Presales Expert (HSSE & Sustainability), you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between complex industrial safety, environmental, and sustainability challenges and innovative digital solutions. This position is designed for professionals who thrive at the intersection of technical expertise and commercial acumen, enabling businesses to address regulatory, operational, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) requirements through cutting-edge technology. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including business development, product, engineering, and delivery—to qualify opportunities, design tailored solutions, and craft compelling proposals that resonate with clients across energy, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, and other industrial sectors. Your domain knowledge in HSSE and sustainability, combined with your ability to translate regulatory and operational needs into practical digital solutions, will be instrumental in driving business growth and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

• Opportunity Lifecycle Support: Lead presales activities from initial opportunity qualification through RFP/RFI responses, solution presentations, proof-of-concept engagements, and proposal development. Ensure alignment between customer requirements and commercially viable digital solutions.
• Solution Design & Proposal Development: Partner with business development and commercial teams to develop value-driven solution proposals that address HSSE, sustainability, and ESG challenges. Prepare comprehensive solution documentation, technical narratives, implementation approaches, and commercial inputs tailored to client needs.
• Market & Competitive Insights: Contribute to opportunity tracking by providing customer, market, and competitive insights. Leverage this intelligence to strengthen business strategies and enhance proposal effectiveness.
• Presales Asset Development: Create and maintain reusable proposal content, solution templates, case studies, and presales assets specifically designed for HSSE and sustainability use cases. Continuously refine these assets to improve proposal quality and presales processes.
• Digital Solution Design: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design digital solutions that address critical challenges such as incident management, permit-to-work systems, environmental monitoring, ESG data management, sustainability reporting, and regulatory compliance. Ensure solutions are scalable, deliverable, and aligned with customer objectives.
• Regulatory & Industry Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of industrial safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001, OSHA), environmental management practices (e.g., ISO 14001), and ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CSRD, TCFD, SEC climate disclosure requirements) to develop compliant and future-ready solutions.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in discovery workshops, technical assessments, and solution presentations with HSE, sustainability, operations, and technology stakeholders. Build strong relationships by providing consultative support and industry insights on HSSE and sustainability transformation initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, commercially viable, and aligned with implementation capabilities. Facilitate seamless transitions from presales to delivery through effective documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and maintenance of solution assets, industry use cases, methodologies, and knowledge repositories. Share best practices, lessons learned, and industry trends to enhance presales effectiveness and regulatory positioning.
• Regulatory & Technology Awareness: Stay abreast of evolving ESG regulations, industrial safety requirements, and digital technology trends to ensure solutions remain compliant and competitive. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance solution offerings based on emerging standards and innovations.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a passion for sustainability. Ideal candidates will possess:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in HSSE, ESG, or sustainability are highly desirable.
• Proven experience in presales, solution consulting, or a related role, with a focus on HSSE, sustainability, or ESG solutions. Experience in industrial sectors such as energy, mining, manufacturing, or infrastructure is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001, OSHA), environmental management practices (e.g., ISO 14001), and ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CSRD, TCFD, SEC climate disclosure requirements).
• Familiarity with digital solutions for incident management, environmental monitoring, ESG data management, and sustainability reporting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in developing solution narratives, technical documentation, and commercial proposals.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into practical, scalable, and deliverable digital solutions.
• Collaborative approach with a strong ability to work in cross-functional teams and drive alignment across business, product, engineering, and delivery functions.
