Key Responsibilities

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for a diverse range of duties that contribute to the successful execution of our engineering projects. These responsibilities include:

• Project Design and Planning: Develop detailed civil engineering designs, including structural frameworks, foundations, and site layouts, using advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of civil engineering solutions with chemical process requirements.
• Site Supervision and Execution: Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to approved designs, project timelines, and budget constraints. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, drawings, and specifications for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of project progress, modifications, and compliance documentation to facilitate audits and regulatory reviews.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks associated with civil engineering projects and implement proactive measures to mitigate hazards. Work closely with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team to ensure all projects align with the company’s safety policies and Saudi Arabian regulatory frameworks.
• Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a liaison between the civil engineering team and other departments, including chemical engineering, procurement, and project management. Facilitate clear and concise communication to ensure alignment on project goals, challenges, and deliverables.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control checks on materials, construction methods, and finished structures to ensure they meet the highest standards of durability, functionality, and safety. Address any discrepancies promptly and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects in the chemical or industrial sector. Experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and SAP2000. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project management tools is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international standards, including Saudi Building Code (SBC), OSHA, and ISO certifications. Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices is essential.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous but not required.
