Job Purpose

As a Government Relations Representative, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining strong, productive relationships with government entities and regulatory authorities. Reporting to the Government Affairs Manager, you will oversee all government-related transactions and procedures to safeguard the company’s business interests, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and maintain seamless operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, from managing licensing and permit processes to resolving compliance issues and representing the company in interactions with government bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with government and regulatory authorities, including municipalities, Civil Defense, Chambers of Commerce, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, environmental authorities, the Ministry of Transport, the Traffic Department, and other relevant entities to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • License and Permit Management: Oversee the issuance, renewal, and maintenance of operational licenses, building permits, safety certifications, and other essential approvals critical to business continuity.
  • Vehicle and Traffic Compliance: Manage all vehicle-related transactions, including registrations, license renewals, ownership transfers, and compliance with traffic regulations, as well as handle traffic violations, police cases, and security-related matters.
  • Visa and Travel Procedures: Coordinate with embassies, consulates, and relevant authorities to facilitate visa processing and other travel-related government procedures for employees and stakeholders.
  • Government Representation: Act as the company’s representative in interactions with government entities, addressing licensing, permits, compliance issues, and operational challenges to ensure uninterrupted business activities.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Proactively monitor and address observations, violations, and regulatory requirements issued by government authorities, ensuring timely resolution and mitigation of risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies to streamline business operations and enhance government collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in government relations, preferably within a corporate or healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Saudi government regulations, procedures, and e-services platforms is essential for navigating complex bureaucratic processes.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with government officials and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, to support administrative and reporting tasks.
