Sr. Rotating Equipment Engineer Design Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer specializing in Design and Construction to join our dynamic team at KBR Saudi Arabia. This critical role is based in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, and requires an on-site presence to ensure the successful execution of rotating equipment projects within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical expertise in the design, selection, installation, and commissioning of rotating machinery, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and other critical rotating equipment. This position demands a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Engineering: Lead the design and engineering of rotating equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications. Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for rotating machinery systems.
• Equipment Selection and Sizing: Perform technical evaluations to select and size rotating equipment based on operational requirements, efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle costs. Utilize engineering software and tools to optimize equipment performance.
• Project Execution: Oversee the construction, installation, and commissioning of rotating equipment in alignment with project timelines and budgets. Collaborate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff. Review and approve engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and reports, to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry best practices.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to rotating equipment, including performance inefficiencies, mechanical failures, or operational challenges. Implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance equipment reliability.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all rotating equipment designs and installations adhere to international standards (e.g., API, ISO, ASME) and local regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the team and project site.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to address technical queries, resolve disputes, and ensure alignment with project objectives. Represent KBR in technical discussions and presentations as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of rotating equipment within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors. Experience in a consulting, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), or similar environment is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of rotating equipment design principles, failure analysis, and reliability engineering.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in rotating equipment, project management, or industry-specific standards are a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
