OPERATOR

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of occupational health, safety, and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Acumen and Policy Adherence: Gain a comprehensive understanding of NFP’s business environment, objectives, and strategic goals. Interpret and apply internal policies and procedures with precision to ensure alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lean Manufacturing Implementation: Drive operational efficiency by applying Lean Manufacturing principles, including Just-In-Time (JIT), Six Sigma, Ishikawa (Cause-and-Effect) diagrams, 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die), PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), and other industry-recognized tools. Continuously seek opportunities to eliminate waste, reduce downtime, and enhance productivity.
• Equipment and Maintenance Knowledge: Demonstrate proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of machinery, spare parts, tools, and equipment integral to NAPCO’s maintenance practices. Ensure machinery is in optimal working condition to minimize disruptions and maximize output.
• Safety and Compliance Leadership: Champion a culture of safety by strictly adhering to local, regional, and international occupational health and safety policies, regulations, and standards. Interpret legal requirements, internal procedures, and industry best practices to safeguard human life, property, and business continuity. Proactively identify and mitigate risks to prevent market losses and ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze operational data, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions. Participate in root cause analysis, preventive maintenance programs, and Kaizen initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of operational activities, maintenance logs, safety inspections, and compliance reports. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, accessible, and compliant with internal and external audit requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset to this role. While specific qualifications may vary based on the operational context, the following attributes are essential:

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with machinery operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced setting.
• In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO standards, and company-specific safety protocols.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret complex policies and procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related fields are a plus.
• Commitment to professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing or industrial setting, which may include exposure to noise, vibration, and varying temperatures. The role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The Operator will work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support continuous operations.
