Finance Lead

Position Overview

Subsea7 is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Lead to oversee and coordinate financial activities across five legal entities located in the UAE, Qatar, and Singapore. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring precise financial reporting, maintaining high-quality accounting standards in compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and Group accounting policies. The Finance Lead will work in close collaboration with the Finance Manager to deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting while serving as the primary liaison between the Finance Manager, local accounting teams, the KSA Finance Lead, and Group Finance. This position offers strategic operational guidance to enhance finance processes, ensure adherence to deadlines, and uphold consistent accounting practices across the region. Additionally, the Finance Lead will act as the deputy to the Finance Manager, coordinating finance activities, supporting local business initiatives, and driving continuous improvement within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Lead will be accountable for the following core responsibilities:

• Regional Coordination: Serve as the primary local finance contact, overseeing day-to-day financial operations across five legal entities in the UAE, Qatar, and Singapore.
• Financial Management: Ensure accurate accounting, effective cash flow forecasting, capital expenditure management, and compliance with local statutory requirements and Group policies. Facilitate the timely delivery of financial reports.
• Team Leadership & Supervision: Provide day-to-day guidance, technical support, and supervision to assigned accounting staff, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Deputy Role: Act as the deputy to the Finance Manager, offering operational leadership, coordinating regional finance activities, setting team priorities, and maintaining operational continuity across legal entities.
• Regulatory & Business Support: Support the implementation of local regulatory and business initiatives, including new accounting requirements, e-invoicing, and other statutory or operational changes impacting the entities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Supply Chain, HR, Treasury, Tax, Project Controls, and operational teams to support business activities and resolve finance-related matters.
• Risk Management & Process Improvement: Identify risks, recommend practical solutions, and drive continuous improvements in finance processes and internal controls.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional Qualifications: Hold a recognized accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
• Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years in accounting or finance within an international and multicultural environment, with prior management or supervisory experience in an international setting.
• Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in the Energy or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven track record of working with cross-functional finance teams and shared service centers.
