As we expand our rare disease portfolio following the acquisition of Alexion, we are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Rare Diseases to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of patient care in haematology, nephrology, and transplant medicine.

In this strategic position, you will leverage your deep expertise in rare diseases to bridge the gap between cutting-edge scientific advancements and clinical practice. With over 7,000 rare diseases identified yet less than 1% treated, your contributions will be instrumental in addressing unmet medical needs and improving patient outcomes. Reporting to the Medical Manager Rare Disease, you will drive impactful engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key stakeholders, ensuring our therapies are optimally utilized to enhance lives.

Your Impact Will Be Defined By:

As the Senior MSL, your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of strategic and operational duties, designed to elevate AstraZeneca’s position as a leader in rare disease therapy. Your key contributions will include:

• Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and deepen relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and patient advocacy groups to gain insights into clinical practices, emerging trends, and knowledge gaps. Act as a trusted advisor, providing objective, evidence-based scientific information to support informed decision-making.
• Educational Leadership: Develop and deliver targeted educational programs focused on disease state management and the appropriate use of our rare disease therapies. Align these initiatives with AstraZeneca’s Medical Affairs strategy to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Clinical Insight Generation: Gather and analyze feedback from HCPs to inform medical and commercial strategies, ensuring our therapies are positioned effectively within the broader therapeutic landscape. Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring emerging therapies and advancements in disease management.
• Scientific Advocacy: Collaborate with HCPs on scientific projects, including clinical trials and medical education initiatives, to advance disease understanding and improve patient care. Present data objectively, fostering a culture of transparency and partnership.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to AstraZeneca’s internal policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance guidelines to maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
