Job Overview

The Finance Director will spearhead the financial operations of the VRS Finance function within VRS’ Shared Services, providing strategic leadership across accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This pivotal role is instrumental in driving sound financial management, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering strategic financial insights that align with Visit Red Sea’s long-term objectives. The Finance Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and division heads, fostering a culture of financial accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership & Strategy:
  • Provide visionary financial leadership and strategic direction to senior management and the VRS Shared Services team.
  • Align financial planning and initiatives with Visit Red Sea’s organizational goals and long-term strategic vision.
  • Act as a key financial advisor to the Head of VRS Shared Services and other division heads, offering data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Accounting & Compliance:
  • Oversee all accounting operations to ensure accuracy, integrity, and strict adherence to regulatory standards and financial policies.
  • Lead and streamline month-end and year-end close processes to maintain financial precision and timeliness.
  • Develop and enforce robust internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Spearhead the annual budgeting process across all VRS Shared Services departments, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Develop and manage rolling forecasts, variance analyses, and financial models to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Partner with department heads to monitor budget performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to optimize financial outcomes.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
  • Present financial results, key performance indicators, and strategic recommendations to senior management to inform executive decision-making.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory reporting requirements and maintain transparency in all financial disclosures.
• Team Management & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the VRS Finance team, including Accounting, Budgeting & Forecasting, and Financial Reporting functions.
  • Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular evaluations, and cultivate a high-performance culture rooted in collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a finance team that is agile, proactive, and aligned with the strategic goals of Visit Red Sea.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Professional Certifications: Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role. Prior experience in a shared services, hospitality, tourism, or government-related environment is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, accounting, and reporting within large-scale organizations.
  • Proven track record in leading financial transformation initiatives and driving operational efficiency.
• Technical & Soft Skills:
  • High proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
