MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Alkhomra, Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the supervision, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our plant’s mechanical equipment and machinery. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and manufacturing robust mechanical systems while ensuring optimal performance, safety, and longevity. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a strong commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our industrial mechanical systems. Your core duties will include:

• System Supervision and Troubleshooting: Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of industrial mechanical systems, including transmission systems, drives, gears, bearings, couplings, and gearboxes.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, motor drives, conveyors, presses, and basic fabrication and machining operations such as drilling, grinding, and welding.
• Preventive Maintenance Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and enhance the longevity of all plant machinery and equipment.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with the Electrical Troubleshooting Section Head, Utilities team, and Technical Department Manager to ensure all plant machinery operates at peak performance and reliability.
• Performance Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses and tests on new and existing products to evaluate performance, safety, and durability. Recommend cost-effective manufacturing processes without compromising quality standards.
• Operational Flexibility: Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including shift work and outside normal working hours, to address urgent mechanical issues and maintain uninterrupted production operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including transmission, drives, gears, bearings, couplings, and gearboxes, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Equipment Familiarity: Proficient in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, motor drives, conveyors, presses, and fabrication processes such as drilling, grinding, and welding.
• Communication Proficiency: Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to management and cross-functional teams.
• Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to apply statistical calculations, mechanical techniques, and analytical methods to resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Safety and Compliance: A thorough understanding of industrial safety protocols and security measures, with knowledge of ISO systems considered a valuable asset.
• Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating reliability, self-motivation, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure setting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires a physically active individual capable of performing tasks in an industrial setting. The Mechanical Engineer must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and possess normal hearing and vision to engage in conversations and inspect equipment. While heavy lifting is not a regular requirement, the ability to exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally may be necessary. Manual dexterity is essential for operating machinery and equipment, and strong reasoning abilities are required to address a wide range of mechanical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with prior experience in the ceramic tiles manufacturing industry and familiarity with relevant procedures and standards will be given preference.
