Steward: The Backbone of Culinary Excellence

As a Steward, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and food safety within our kitchen and back-of-house operations. This position is essential for ensuring seamless service, supporting culinary teams, and upholding the pristine reputation of our hospitality brand. Your meticulous attention to detail and dedication to hygiene will directly impact the success of our Food & Beverage operations, making this role both challenging and deeply rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will span across multiple critical areas, ensuring operational excellence and compliance:

• Stewarding Operations: Master the art of maintaining immaculate kitchen and back-of-house environments by cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing all equipment, utensils, crockery, and glassware. Operate dishwashing machines with precision to guarantee a steady supply of pristine tableware during peak service hours. Collaborate seamlessly with culinary and banquet teams to set up and dismantle equipment for events, ensuring everything is ready for flawless execution.
• Cleaning & Sanitation: Adhere to rigorous cleaning schedules, including floors, walls, drains, and storage areas, while strictly following food safety protocols. Properly handle, store, and label cleaning chemicals to maintain a safe and compliant workspace. Execute deep-cleaning tasks as scheduled to uphold the highest hygiene standards across all operational areas.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Champion food safety by adhering to HACCP standards, proper waste segregation, and recycling protocols. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and promptly report any hygiene concerns, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to ensure immediate resolution. Actively participate in food safety inspections and internal audits to reinforce best practices.
• Inventory & Equipment Care: Handle kitchen equipment with care to prevent damage, reporting any issues to management. Assist in organizing and inventorying supplies, including crockery, cutlery, and glassware, to maintain optimal stock levels. Ensure daily maintenance of dishwashing machines and stewarding tools to prolong their lifespan and efficiency.
• Waste Management: Implement efficient waste disposal procedures, separating recyclables and garbage while minimizing breakage and waste. Keep refuse storage areas clean and odor-free, aligning with both hotel policies and environmental sustainability goals.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Foster a culture of teamwork by supporting culinary, Food & Beverage, and banquet staff during high-volume periods and special events. Actively engage in departmental briefings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational workflows and guest satisfaction.
