Junior Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization by recording transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting principles, proficiency in financial software, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of critical accounting functions, including:

• Transaction Recording and Financial Record Maintenance: Accurately record daily accounting transactions and maintain up-to-date financial records to ensure the integrity of our financial data.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Oversee the processing of supplier invoices, customer billing, and the timely settlement of accounts to optimize cash flow and vendor relationships.
• Journal Entries and Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and review journal entries, perform bank reconciliations, and ensure all financial activities are properly documented and reconciled.
• Monthly and Year-End Closing Support: Assist in the preparation for monthly and year-end closing activities, including the compilation of financial statements and management reports to support informed decision-making.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure full compliance with VAT, ZATCA, and e-invoicing regulations, as well as other statutory requirements to mitigate risks and avoid penalties.
• Expense Verification and Coordination: Collaborate with operations teams to verify and process transportation-related expenses, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company policies.
• Audit Support and Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accessible accounting records to facilitate internal and external audits, and provide support during audit processes as needed.
• Additional Accounting Duties: Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager or senior leadership to support the overall financial health of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Educational Background: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools. Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
• Regulatory Knowledge: A solid grasp of VAT, ZATCA, and e-invoicing requirements, with the ability to apply these regulations accurately in daily accounting tasks.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose solutions to financial challenges.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic to effectively interact with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy in all financial records and compliance with internal controls and policies.
