SQL Database Administrator - Riyadh KSA

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust database systems that support critical business operations. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in database administration, with a strong proficiency in Microsoft technologies and enterprise-level infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Development & Design: Architect, implement, and optimize SQL databases to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability. Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures to meet evolving business requirements.
• Database Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of database operations, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning. Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and data loss.
• Microsoft Windows Server Systems: Manage and administer Windows Server environments, ensuring seamless integration with database systems. Configure and maintain server roles, features, and security settings to support optimal database performance and compliance with organizational policies.
• Active Directory & DNS Administration: Administer Microsoft Active Directory (AD) to manage user identities, permissions, and access controls. Maintain and optimize DNS infrastructure to ensure reliable name resolution and network connectivity for all database-related services.
• Collaboration & Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system engineers, and IT security professionals, to align database solutions with business objectives. Provide expert guidance and support to resolve complex technical challenges and enhance system efficiency.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce database security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements to safeguard sensitive data.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum of five years of professional experience in SQL database administration, with a proven track record in database development and management.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server systems, Active Directory, and DNS. Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions and virtualization technologies is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve database-related issues efficiently. Ability to think critically and implement innovative solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSA: SQL Server, or equivalent are highly desirable.
