IT Governance Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Governance Specialist to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

The IT Governance Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of strategic and operational duties, including:

• IT Strategy and Governance: Collaborate in the development, implementation, and updating of the IT strategy and governance model to ensure it remains robust, relevant, and aligned with business goals. Oversee the enforcement and compliance of IT policies and procedures across the organization.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison between business operations and IT teams, ensuring that data-related requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and understood by all stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication to bridge gaps and align IT initiatives with business needs.
• Risk and Compliance Management: Support risk and audit assessment processes by identifying IT-related risks and contributing to mitigation strategies. Assist in addressing audit findings and observations to enhance compliance and operational resilience.
• Reporting and Metrics: Prepare and present comprehensive reports on IT governance metrics, compliance status, and performance indicators to senior management and key stakeholders. Highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Process Improvement: Identify and drive opportunities for process enhancement to elevate IT governance practices. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, effectiveness, and maturity of IT processes.
• Regulatory and Framework Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and industry standards such as ISO 20000, ISO 27001, COBIT, and ITIL. Oversee the implementation of these frameworks to maintain a high level of governance maturity.
• IT Service Management (ITSM) Governance: Monitor and ensure compliance with ITSM processes, including Configuration Management Database (CMDB), service catalog data, Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management. Drive maturity improvements in these areas to support operational excellence.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:

• Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in IT administration, governance, compliance, risk management, or a related discipline.
• Certifications (Preferred): Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, or COBIT are highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.
• Technical and Functional Skills:
  • Proven experience with IT governance frameworks, including COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 20000.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
  • Expertise in IT planning, compliance, and change management processes.
  • Proficiency in vendor management and reporting mechanisms.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT processes, policies, procedures, and auditing standards.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, mobile devices, and other technology products.
