Project Support Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will provide essential technical and coordination support for communication and low-current system projects, ensuring adherence to design standards, accuracy in documentation, timely procurement assistance, and seamless project execution. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our project delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks that contribute to the successful completion of projects. These responsibilities include:

• Technical Submittals Support: Assist in the preparation and review of technical submittals for systems such as Data, Telecom, CCTV, and Access Control, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Design Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Electrical and Security disciplines, to facilitate seamless design integration and alignment.
• Documentation Development: Prepare and maintain critical project documentation, including shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material take-offs, to support project execution and record-keeping.
• Vendor Document Review: Evaluate vendor technical documents to verify compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations.
• Procurement Assistance: Provide technical clarifications and support to the procurement team to facilitate accurate and timely sourcing of materials and equipment.
• BOQ Preparation Support: Contribute to the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) by providing detailed material specifications and quantities.
• Design Documentation Oversight: Monitor the flow of project design documentation to ensure timely and accurate distribution among stakeholders.
• Site Support: Offer technical clarifications and guidance to the site team as needed to resolve on-site challenges and ensure project continuity.
• Testing and Commissioning: Assist in the preparation of testing, commissioning documentation, and handover dossiers to ensure projects meet client and regulatory standards.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure all project activities and deliverables comply with client-specific standards, directives, and industry best practices.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in the following areas:

• CCTV Systems: Proficiency in IP-based CCTV systems, including camera configurations, network video recorders (NVRs), and video management software.
• Access Control Systems: Experience with electronic access control systems, including card readers, biometric devices, and integration with other security systems.
• Public Address / Voice Alarm Systems: Knowledge of public address and voice alarm systems, including design, installation, and integration with emergency communication systems.
• Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of networking components such as switches, routers, and basic IP addressing to support data and communication system deployments.
• Communication Racks and Data Center Layouts: Familiarity with the design and layout of communication racks, data center environments, and structured cabling systems.
• Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret various types of technical drawings, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layouts, and schematics.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in communication or low-current system projects, with a proven track record in technical support and coordination roles.
