Position Overview

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Maintenance-Rooms-Preventative professional to join our team at a premier hospitality property in Umm Al Qura, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for executing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks across guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and guest satisfaction. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the property’s reputation for excellence while upholding safety, security, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance-Rooms-Preventative role encompasses a wide range of duties designed to preserve the integrity and aesthetics of the property. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance in guest rooms (including CARE, RPM, and GCPM protocols), meeting rooms, and public spaces. This includes flipping and inspecting mattresses, box springs, and assembling bed frames; vacuuming behind and beneath furniture; spot cleaning carpets and upholstery; dusting surfaces; and performing touch-up painting and furniture repairs.
• Room Inspections: Ensure all necessary hardware, appliances, and fixtures are present, functional, and in optimal condition. Replace light fixtures, inspect and repair grout and caulking, and address minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching wall holes.
• Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform thorough cleaning of guestroom surfaces, including tubs, wall tiles, hard floors, walls, windows, and mirrors. Maintain a pristine environment to meet company standards and guest expectations.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety and security policies, report accidents or unsafe conditions to management, and complete required safety training and certifications. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Guest Interaction: Welcome and acknowledge guests professionally, anticipate their needs, and address service requests promptly. Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the guest experience.
• Team Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues to support team goals. Contribute to a collaborative environment that prioritizes quality, efficiency, and excellence.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. You will be responsible for moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and assisting with heavier items as needed. The position involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, often throughout an entire work shift. A commitment to maintaining a professional appearance, including a clean and well-maintained uniform, is essential.

Qualifications and Preferred Attributes

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Experience: Prior work experience in maintenance, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, though less than one year of relevant experience is acceptable.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service are critical. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is highly valued.
