Ground Operations Team Member

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Ground Operations Team Member to join our expanding team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining operational excellence by conducting on-site visits to branches and collection points, ensuring adherence to established standards, and supporting our captains in delivering exceptional service. Your fieldwork will be instrumental in upholding the efficiency and reliability of our daily operations, contributing directly to the success of our logistics network.

Key Responsibilities

• Branch and Collection Point Visits: Schedule and execute daily visits to monitor the performance of stores and collection points associated with captains, verifying compliance with operational protocols and identifying areas for improvement.
• Captain Training and Onboarding: Facilitate the effective training of newly onboarded captains, ensuring they fully understand and adhere to Ninja’s operational standards, safety protocols, and service expectations.
• Captain Room Audits: Conduct regular inspections of captain waiting areas and workspaces to confirm compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
• Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Evaluate captain performance with a focus on key operational metrics, including on-time delivery, uniform compliance, accurate form submission, and proper issue escalation. Your insights will drive performance enhancements and ensure consistent service quality across all locations.
• Ground Trips with Captains: Accompany captains on ground trips to assess performance, track the achievement of daily delivery goals, and document any challenges or areas for improvement in the delivery process. Report findings to the appropriate stakeholders to facilitate corrective action.
• Issue Reporting and Resolution: Identify, document, and report all issues related to captains, including performance gaps, compliance violations, and operational inefficiencies. Collaborate with ground supervisors to implement solutions and prevent recurrence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Diploma or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with logistics and ground handling operations, including an understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite or logistics-specific software applications.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with captains, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze situations, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures in a timely manner.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving operational demands.
• Prior experience in coordinating with drivers or captains, ensuring compliance with SOPs, and maintaining high standards of safety and security in logistics or aviation settings.
