Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Carpenter to join our Engineering team at FAENA The Red Sea. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and constructing wooden fixtures, furniture, fittings, and decorative elements throughout the property. Your expertise will play a crucial part in upholding the hotel’s luxury standards, ensuring that every guest-facing and operational area reflects the unique FAENA experience. The ideal candidate will combine technical proficiency with a commitment to craftsmanship, contributing to the creation of exceptional environments that captivate and inspire.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Repairs: Execute carpentry repairs, maintenance, and installation across guest rooms, villas, public areas, restaurants, offices, and back-of-house facilities to ensure operational excellence.
• Furniture and Fixture Installation: Repair, assemble, and install furniture, cabinetry, doors, windows, locks, fixtures, and wooden structures with precision and attention to detail.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections to identify carpentry-related issues proactively, preventing disruptions to hotel operations and guest experiences.
• Custom Fabrication: Fabricate and modify wooden fixtures and furnishings to meet operational and guest needs, ensuring seamless functionality and aesthetic appeal.
• Finishing Work: Perform high-quality finishing tasks, including sanding, staining, varnishing, polishing, and laminating surfaces to achieve flawless results.
• Responsive Service: Respond promptly to maintenance requests, completing work efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests and operations.
• Tool and Equipment Management: Maintain carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment in safe, functional, and optimal working condition.
• Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels of carpentry materials and coordinate replenishment requests to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Project Support: Contribute to renovation projects, room refurbishments, and hotel improvement initiatives to elevate the guest experience.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental procedures while operating tools and equipment, fostering a secure work environment.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering team and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations and maintain the highest standards of service.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: Previous experience as a Carpenter in a luxury hotel, resort, commercial, or hospitality setting is highly preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of carpentry techniques, woodworking tools, furniture repair, and joinery work.
• Interpretation Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and specifications with accuracy.
• Material Proficiency: Experience working with a variety of materials, including wood, laminate, veneer, and composite products.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Attention to Detail: Unwavering commitment to quality craftsmanship and meticulous execution of tasks.
• Time Management: Capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
