Head of Project Management – Design Services

The Head of Project Management is responsible for leading the Project Management function across all design offices, ensuring the successful planning, execution, coordination, and delivery of multidisciplinary design projects. This strategic role involves providing leadership to a team of Design Project Managers, establishing project governance, optimizing resources, driving commercial performance, and enhancing client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience from international engineering consultancy firms, delivering complex, multidisciplinary design projects across various sectors such as mixed-use, infrastructure, aviation, transportation, healthcare, hospitality, commercial, residential, and government developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the Project Management Department, develop project delivery strategies, establish governance frameworks, build a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic planning initiatives.
• Project Delivery: Oversee all multidisciplinary design projects, ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery, monitor performance, coordinate disciplines, resolve issues, and manage project profitability.
• Project Governance: Develop standardized procedures, establish reporting standards, ensure compliance with quality management systems, lead audits, implement risk management strategies, and maintain project governance requirements.
• Resource Management: Plan and optimize resources, coordinate with discipline heads, forecast staffing requirements, monitor utilization, balance workload, and promote collaboration.
• Client Management: Build strong client relationships, participate in executive meetings, resolve issues, support business development, and ensure high client satisfaction.
• Commercial Management: Review budgets, monitor profitability, manage change control, support contract negotiations, and ensure effective commercial risk management.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop Design Project Managers, conduct performance evaluations, build succession plans, foster innovation, and promote accountability.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• PMP Certification mandatory.
• Professional Engineering Registration preferred.
• 18-20 years of experience in engineering consultancy or architectural design firms.
• 8 years of experience managing multidisciplinary design projects.
• 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role managing Project Managers.
• Experience delivering mega projects and complex multidisciplinary developments.
• GCC experience, preferably Saudi Arabia.
• Experience working with international clients and understanding of global project delivery.
