Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and supporting risk management activities across multiple high-profile projects. Your core duties will include:

• Risk Identification and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and opportunities across project phases, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Utilize advanced methodologies to evaluate the likelihood and impact of risks on project objectives.
• Risk Mitigation and Control: Develop and implement tailored risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and enhance project resilience. Collaborate with project teams to integrate risk controls into project plans, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Establish and maintain robust risk monitoring frameworks to track emerging risks and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation measures. Prepare detailed risk reports for stakeholders, highlighting key risks, trends, and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between project teams, senior management, and clients to ensure transparency and accountability in risk management processes. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance risk awareness and foster a proactive risk culture across the organization.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks governing project risk management. Support internal audits and reviews to validate the effectiveness of risk management systems and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on risk engineering principles, tools, and technologies to enhance project delivery. Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of Hill International’s risk management methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Risk Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRM, or CERA) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role within the construction, infrastructure, or oil and gas sectors. Experience with large-scale projects in the Middle East is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in risk management software (e.g., @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to derive actionable insights.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and foster collaborative working relationships. Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Certifications: Professional certifications in risk management (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent) are preferred.
