Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Supervision: Provide direct supervision to the claims processing team, guiding daily operations and monitoring performance metrics to ensure productivity and accuracy. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development among team members.
• Claims Processing and Submission: Oversee the timely submission of medical claims while maintaining rigorous quality standards. Implement robust follow-up procedures to minimize delays and ensure adherence to payer timelines and requirements.
• Denial and Rejection Management: Lead the resolution of denied and rejected claims with a strategic approach to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Develop and track metrics to enhance claim acceptance rates and reduce financial losses.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the claims team, clinical staff, coding specialists, and billing departments. Ensure seamless communication and alignment to guarantee accurate documentation, coding compliance, and streamlined revenue cycle management (RCM).
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Monitor and enforce compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations, including ICD-10, CPT, and other industry standards. Conduct regular audits and training to mitigate risks and uphold organizational policies.
• Process Optimization: Analyze claims workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and improve turnaround times.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in medical claims processing, preferably within hospitals, healthcare providers, or insurance companies. A deep understanding of revenue cycle management (RCM) principles is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, medical billing systems, and claims adjudication processes. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and claims management software is highly desirable.
• Leadership and Management: Proven track record in supervisory or team lead roles, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop a high-performing claims team. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are critical.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret complex claims data, identify trends, and implement corrective measures. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to articulate findings, provide training, and liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
