Position Overview

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Radar Systems Engineer specializing in Modeling & Simulation (M&S) to join our dynamic team in Al-Qatif, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development, validation, and optimization of advanced radar system models, ensuring cutting-edge performance and reliability for critical defense and aerospace applications. As a Principal Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority, driving innovation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver state-of-the-art solutions that meet stringent operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Development & Simulation: Design, implement, and validate sophisticated radar system models, including signal processing, waveform generation, and target detection algorithms. Utilize advanced simulation tools and methodologies to assess system performance under diverse operational scenarios.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Lead technical reviews, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• System Integration & Testing: Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate radar models into larger system architectures. Conduct rigorous testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulations, to validate system functionality and performance.
• Requirements Analysis & Compliance: Translate high-level operational requirements into detailed technical specifications. Ensure all models and simulations comply with industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and customer-specific mandates.
• Innovation & Process Improvement: Drive the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices in radar M&S. Propose and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of simulation frameworks.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary technical liaison with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Present findings, deliver presentations, and articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong academic background and extensive hands-on experience in radar systems engineering, with a focus on modeling and simulation. The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field; an advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) is highly desirable.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in radar systems engineering, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or principal engineer capacity.
• Proficiency in radar modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar platforms. Experience with radar signal processing, clutter modeling, and electronic warfare simulations is essential.
• Familiarity with radar hardware components, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and signal processors. Knowledge of radar system architectures and operational environments is beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and derive actionable insights. Experience with statistical analysis and optimization techniques is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
• Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one, as this role may involve sensitive defense-related projects.
