Position Overview
FRAND, a leading company specializing in the import and distribution of high-quality food products, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant & Finance Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. This pivotal role is designed for a finance professional with a proven track record in accounting and financial supervision, capable of driving operational excellence through meticulous financial management, strategic analysis, and compliance oversight. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations while providing actionable insights to support executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant & Finance Supervisor will oversee a comprehensive range of financial and accounting functions to maintain the fiscal health and operational efficiency of the organization. Core responsibilities include:
- Financial Operations Management: Supervise daily accounting operations, including the review of journal entries, invoices, payments, and collections to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Monthly Closing & Reporting: Lead the monthly closing process, prepare and review financial statements, and generate critical reports such as the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement to provide a clear financial overview.
- Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Develop and maintain weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, identify potential cash gaps, and proactively address upcoming financial obligations to ensure liquidity and operational continuity.
- Banking & Financing Coordination: Monitor bank accounts, credit facilities, financing arrangements, and associated costs such as installments, interest, and fees. Prepare financing application documents and liaise with banks and financial institutions to secure optimal funding solutions.
- Reconciliation & Compliance: Perform and review reconciliations for bank, customer, supplier, tax, and suspense accounts. Ensure strict adherence to VAT compliance, electronic invoicing requirements, and other regulatory obligations in alignment with Saudi Arabian standards.
- Inventory & Cost Analysis: Review inventory levels, stock count variances, cost of goods sold (COGS), and landed costs for each shipment. Analyze sales performance and profitability by brand, product, customer, and sales channel to identify trends and opportunities.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare detailed financial and management reports, analyze variances and risks, and deliver strategic recommendations to senior management to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Quality Assurance: Supervise the accounting data-entry team, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of their work while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance, with at least three years in a supervisory or senior accountant role.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, food products, import operations, or distribution is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with experience in Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, or similar ERP systems. Strong understanding of VAT regulations and Saudi accounting standards is essential.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Exceptional financial analysis capabilities, keen attention to detail, and the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and recommendations for stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Certifications & Competencies
While not mandatory, the following certifications and competencies will enhance a candidate’s profile:
- Professional Certifications: CMA (Certified Management Accountant), VAT Specialist certification, or training in IFRS.
- Additional Qualifications: SOCPA fellowship or ACCA qualification will be viewed favorably.
- Core Competencies: Demonstrated expertise in FMCG accounting, inventory management, cash flow optimization, and monthly closing processes.
