Position Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Public Area Attendant to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest experience across all public areas, guest facilities, and back-of-house spaces within our luxury hospitality environment. This role is pivotal in maintaining the impeccable standards of Rosewood and our brand, ensuring that every guest interaction and area under your responsibility reflects the excellence our guests expect.

As a Housekeeping Public Area Attendant, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive guest experience by delivering consistently high levels of cleanliness and professionalism. Your responsibilities will extend beyond routine cleaning to include guest service excellence, collaboration with team members, and adherence to strict operational and safety protocols. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

• Brand Standards Compliance: Implement and uphold all Rosewood brand standards to ensure consistency across all public areas, guest facilities, and back-of-house spaces.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to support the overall success of the hotel and enhance guest satisfaction. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of the property.
• Guest Experience Excellence: Contribute to creating a unique and memorable guest experience by maintaining immaculate public areas and providing courteous, professional assistance to guests and associates. Act as a hotel ambassador, particularly in high-traffic areas, by possessing accurate knowledge of hotel activities, event schedules, outlet hours, and directions.
• Guest Relations: Address guest concerns and comments promptly and effectively, ensuring issues are resolved to the guest’s satisfaction. Handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures, including immediate reporting to Security and adherence to lost property protocols.
• Safety and Security: Prioritize the safety and security of guests, associates, and property. Report any suspicious activity, individuals, or security concerns immediately to the Supervisor and Security department. Ensure the safekeeping and return of all key cards and duty phones, reporting any losses to the Housekeeping Office without delay.
• Equipment and Maintenance: Maintain all assigned equipment in proper working order and report any malfunctions to the Engineering department. Follow up to ensure timely resolution of issues. Adhere to all safety protocols and report any concerns regarding guest property or suspicious activity.
• Administrative Duties: Complete daily worksheets to ensure all allocated areas meet the required standards of cleanliness and presentation. Support new team members by sharing best practices and providing guidance as needed. Handle guest gifts in accordance with hotel policies, ensuring proper authorization and security clearance before removal from the premises.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as requested by the Housekeeping Office to support the smooth operation of the department and the hotel.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to cleanliness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Prior experience in housekeeping, particularly in a luxury hospitality setting, is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a high-paced environment. Proficiency in basic cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols is essential.
