Surveyor Monitoring

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor Monitoring to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Reporting directly to the Survey Engineer (Monitoring) or Survey Monitoring Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of project assets and adjacent infrastructure through precise field surveying and monitoring activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring and recording movement, settlement, deformation, and structural behavior during both construction and operational phases, contributing to the overall success and compliance of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Surveyor Monitoring will execute a range of critical tasks to support our monitoring operations, including:

• Field Survey & Monitoring Operations:
  • Conduct daily monitoring surveys at designated project locations in strict accordance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Accurately measure settlement, displacement, movement, and deformation of structures and adjacent infrastructure.
  • Perform precise leveling surveys and monitoring observations to ensure data integrity.
  • Install, inspect, and maintain monitoring targets, benchmarks, prisms, and reference points to support long-term monitoring efforts.
  • Verify the stability and condition of survey control networks to uphold measurement accuracy.
• Instrument Operation & Maintenance:
  • Operate and maintain a variety of advanced survey and monitoring equipment, including:
    • Robotic Total Stations
    • Digital Levels
    • GNSS/GPS Receivers
    • Precise Levels
    • Monitoring Prisms
    • Crack Gauges
    • Tiltmeters
    • Inclinometers
  • Ensure proper storage, calibration, and maintenance of all survey equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
• Data Collection & Management:
  • Collect and record monitoring observations with the highest level of accuracy and completeness.
  • Upload and organize survey data in accordance with established project procedures and standards.
  • Verify field measurements and promptly report any discrepancies or anomalies to the survey team.
  • Maintain detailed monitoring logs and survey records to support project documentation and reporting.
• Monitoring Support & Quality Assurance:
  • Assist Survey Engineers in establishing and maintaining robust control networks for monitoring activities.
  • Participate in inspections and checks of automated monitoring systems to ensure system reliability.
  • Support emergency monitoring initiatives when movement thresholds are exceeded, providing timely and accurate data.
  • Report any unusual movement, damaged targets, or equipment malfunctions immediately to prevent potential risks.
  • Adhere to project survey procedures, QA/QC requirements, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Coordination & Communication:
  • Coordinate daily activities with survey engineers and site construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Assist with access arrangements and site inspections to facilitate efficient monitoring operations.
  • Communicate field observations, findings, and potential issues to supervisors in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education:
  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is considered a significant advantage.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in surveying and monitoring works.
  • Proven experience in metro, railway, tunneling, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects is highly preferred.
    • Experience with settlement and deformation monitoring programs is particularly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating Total Stations, Digital Levels, and GNSS equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction surveying and monitoring principles, including:
    • Precise Levelling
    • Settlement Monitoring
    • Deformation Monitoring
    • Tunnel Monitoring
    • Control Point Maintenance
  • Familiarity with Leica and Trimble survey equipment is a strong plus.
  • Basic knowledge of survey software and data processing tools is required.

• Preferred Experience:
  • Prior involvement in Riyadh Metro, railway, or tunneling projects.
  • Experience with automated monitoring systems, such as Leica GeoMoS or Trimble 4D.
  • Familiarity with deep excavation and station monitoring methodologies.
