Data Manager -Draftsman Monitoring

Position Overview

The Data Manager - Draftsman Monitoring plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of survey and structural monitoring data for the Riyadh Metro Project. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this position reports directly to the Survey Monitoring Manager and is responsible for overseeing the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of critical monitoring data. The role is essential in supporting engineering decisions, mitigating risks, and ensuring full compliance with project and contractual requirements through meticulous data management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

The Data Manager - Draftsman Monitoring will execute a comprehensive range of duties to maintain the highest standards of data quality and project oversight. These responsibilities include:

• Data Management:
  • Administer and maintain all survey and monitoring databases, ensuring secure storage, retrieval, and archiving of data;
  • Collect, validate, and organize monitoring observations from both manual and automated systems;
  • Guarantee the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all monitoring records;
  • Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures to safeguard project data integrity.
• Monitoring Data Analysis:
  • Process and analyze critical monitoring parameters including settlement, deformation, displacement, vibration, convergence, and structural movement;
  • Monitor trends against established alert, alarm, and action thresholds to identify potential risks;
  • Detect anomalies and promptly escalate significant findings to the Monitoring Manager for further investigation;
  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for unusual movements or monitoring events.
• Reporting & Visualization:
  • Develop and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc monitoring reports to stakeholders;
  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards, graphs, and trend analysis presentations using Power BI and other tools;
  • Generate movement summaries and key performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making;
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports for clients, consultants, and project management teams in accordance with contractual obligations.
• Systems Administration:
  • Administer and optimize monitoring software platforms including Leica GeoMoS, Trimble 4D Control, Power BI, SQL databases, and GIS platforms;
  • Oversee data transmission and ensure optimal performance of automated monitoring systems;
  • Collaborate with IT teams to assess and fulfill database and server requirements;
  • Troubleshoot system issues and implement preventive maintenance measures.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Enforce rigorous data validation and quality control procedures to maintain compliance with project standards;
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive audit trails and monitoring records;
  • Ensure all reporting and documentation meet contractual and regulatory requirements;
  • Conduct regular audits to verify data accuracy and system reliability.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following educational and professional criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in survey and monitoring data management;
  • Proven track record on metro, railway, tunneling, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable;
  • Extensive experience with automated monitoring systems and handling large datasets.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis;
  • Strong capability in Power BI for dashboard development and visualization;
  • Expertise in SQL database management and query optimization;
  • Familiarity with Leica GeoMoS or Trimble 4D Control monitoring software;
  • Working knowledge of GIS applications for spatial data representation;
  • Strong data analysis and statistical reporting skills;
  • Exceptional reporting and presentation abilities to communicate complex data clearly.
