Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contracts Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the successful execution of projects by overseeing contract administration, compliance, and risk management. Reporting to senior leadership, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, negotiate, and manage contracts that align with our clients’ objectives while mitigating potential risks. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Development and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring they are legally sound, compliant with company policies, and aligned with project requirements. Collaborate with legal teams to resolve complex contractual issues and mitigate risks.
- Contract Administration: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to closeout, including tracking deliverables, milestones, and compliance. Ensure all parties adhere to contractual obligations and resolve disputes in a timely manner.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with contracts and implement strategies to minimize exposure. Conduct thorough due diligence on clients, vendors, and partners to ensure financial and operational stability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, legal teams, finance, and procurement to ensure seamless contract execution. Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and alignment.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all contracts comply with local, state, federal, and international regulations. Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and provide insights to senior management on contract performance and risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to enhance contract management processes. Recommend improvements to streamline operations and reduce inefficiencies.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPCM, CCP) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in contract management, preferably within the infrastructure, construction, or consulting industries. Experience with government contracts or large-scale projects is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in contract management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of legal terminology, risk assessment, and financial analysis.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and make data-driven decisions.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are advantageous.
