Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for a diverse portfolio of duties, including:

• Project Execution and Oversight: Assist in the planning and design of airport facilities, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and regulatory standards. Oversee critical maintenance activities, project management, and compliance to guarantee the reliability and safety of infrastructure.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide technical support, implement preventive maintenance programs, and conduct comprehensive infrastructure assessments. Your insights will be instrumental in optimizing asset performance and longevity.
• Design and Modification: Review and evaluate engineering work performed by external teams to ensure adherence to established conditions and compatibility with existing installations. Redesign or recommend modifications as necessary to enhance functionality and efficiency.
• Resource Coordination: Define and outline supporting service requirements, including drafting, surveying, materials take-off, requisitioning, and clerical support. Monitor progress, verify accuracy, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Cost Estimation and Budget Management: Develop detailed cost estimates for engineering, labor, equipment, and materials based on preliminary design data. Prepare expenditure requests with supporting justifications and assemble relevant documentation to facilitate approval processes.
• Problem-Solving and Technical Support: Assist fellow engineers in addressing complex technical challenges outside their core expertise. Initiate reports, compile performance data, and conduct studies to evaluate the development, procurement, or adaptation of equipment. Interpret codes, standards, and operating procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
• Specification Development: Participate in the creation of engineering, material, and equipment specifications. Resolve related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards, and preparing necessary diagrams and calculations while considering economic viability.
• Construction Oversight: Monitor the progress of assigned construction projects to ensure adherence to company engineering requirements. Recommend or confirm design changes, material substitutions, and equipment alternatives, while verifying that expenditures remain within allocated budgets.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive sustainability initiatives and implement industry best practices to enhance operational efficiency. Prepare clear and concise stakeholder reports to facilitate informed decision-making and asset management.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant engineering experience, with a proven track record in facilities engineering, project management, or a related field.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering principles, codes, and standards. Proficiency in cost estimation, design software, and project management tools is highly desirable.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues, propose innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
