Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for executing end-to-end procurement activities in alignment with organizational policies and industry best practices. Your core duties will include:

• Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and secure high-quality suppliers capable of delivering project-specific goods, materials, and services that meet technical, commercial, and ethical standards.
• Supplier Evaluation & Negotiation: Assess supplier quotations based on critical factors such as cost competitiveness, quality assurance, delivery reliability, and compliance with technical specifications. Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Supply Chain Continuity: Ensure uninterrupted supply of essential resources to support both operational and project-driven activities, mitigating risks associated with shortages or delays.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders—including engineering, project management, operations, and finance teams—to clarify procurement requirements, resolve discrepancies, and align procurement strategies with broader business objectives.
• Purchase Order Management: Initiate, track, and manage purchase orders from issuance to delivery, proactively following up on shipments and addressing any supply chain disruptions or logistical challenges.
• Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, quality benchmarks, and delivery commitments. Implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain operational integrity.
• Compliance & Documentation: Uphold strict compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain comprehensive and accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements.

Requirements & Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in procurement, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in the oil & gas or petrochemical sectors. Familiarity with project-based procurement environments is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of procurement methodologies, supplier management frameworks, and contract negotiation strategies. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and procurement software is considered an asset.
• Analytical & Negotiation Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze market trends, assess supplier capabilities, and negotiate terms that balance cost efficiency with quality and reliability. Strong problem-solving skills to address procurement challenges effectively.
• Communication & Collaboration: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, enabling seamless interaction with internal teams, external suppliers, and senior leadership. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
