Facilities Project Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Facilities Project Manager to spearhead the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact facilities management projects across diverse sectors, including commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in overseeing large-scale facilities operations, refurbishment initiatives, maintenance programs, and stakeholder coordination, all while ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and budgetary constraints. This role demands a proactive leader capable of driving project success through meticulous planning, robust risk management, and seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Take ownership of facilities management projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, and budget management, while monitoring progress and performance to identify and address deviations promptly.
• Facilities Operations Oversight: Supervise both hard and soft facilities management services, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, industry best practices, and regulatory standards.
• Refurbishment & Renovation Management: Lead and manage refurbishment, renovation, fit-out, and asset replacement projects, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality or safety.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate seamless communication, resolve conflicts, and ensure project alignment with business goals.
• Risk & Compliance Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental (HSE), and quality standards throughout all project phases.
• Procurement & Contractor Oversight: Manage procurement activities, evaluate contractor performance, and oversee subcontractor deliverables to maintain high standards of workmanship and accountability.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present detailed progress reports for senior management and clients, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and corrective actions taken to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Commissioning & Handover: Oversee the commissioning, handover, and close-out processes to ensure a smooth transition of facilities to end-users while addressing any post-project issues efficiently.
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Implement strategies for the effective lifecycle management of facilities assets, optimizing performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency throughout their operational lifespan.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and capitalize on opportunities for operational efficiency, sustainability initiatives, and cost optimization to enhance long-term value and reduce waste.
• Issue Resolution: Address technical and operational challenges in a timely and effective manner, leveraging expertise to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this pivotal role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in facilities management, construction, or project management, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience managing large-scale facilities or maintenance projects, demonstrating expertise in operational and strategic oversight.
• Proven success in delivering projects within commercial, hospitality, healthcare, residential, or government sectors, with a deep understanding of sector-specific requirements and challenges.
• Comprehensive knowledge of facilities management principles, asset management strategies, and maintenance best practices, coupled with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
