Junior Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our dynamic Accounts & Finance team in Sulay, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This entry-level position is ideal for a candidate with at least one year of hands-on accounting experience in Saudi Arabia, possessing a strong foundation in bookkeeping, financial transactions, VAT compliance, and basic financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Bookkeeping: Manage and execute daily bookkeeping activities while maintaining meticulous and accurate accounting records to support financial integrity.
• Transaction Processing: Record and process invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries with precision to ensure timely and accurate financial documentation.
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain comprehensive documentation to reconcile discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and account statements, providing clear and concise insights to support decision-making processes.
• Month-End & Year-End Closing: Support the accounting team during month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable Management: Maintain and update accounts payable and accounts receivable records, ensuring timely payments and collections while adhering to company policies.
• VAT Compliance: Assist in VAT calculations, filing preparation, and ensure full compliance with Saudi VAT regulations, including timely submissions and accurate record-keeping.
• Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data, resolve accounting-related queries, and facilitate smooth financial operations across the organization.
• Documentation & Filing: Maintain organized and accessible filing systems for financial documents and supporting records, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
• Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform additional accounting tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting the finance team.

Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of one year of practical accounting experience within Saudi Arabia, with a strong understanding of local financial practices and regulations.
• Solid knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Saudi VAT procedures, including calculation, filing, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and other accounting software, with the ability to quickly adapt to new financial systems and tools.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes to enhance their performance in this role:

• Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Arabic, enabling effective communication with diverse stakeholders and ensuring clarity in financial documentation.
• ERP/Accounting Systems Experience: Prior exposure to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or advanced accounting software will be considered a significant advantage.
• Analytical Mindset: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy, coupled with a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced financial environment.
