Service Director - MEA/Africa Region

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Service Director - MEA/Africa Region to lead our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) management team across the Middle East and Africa. This pivotal role is based in the region and requires a strategic leader capable of driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with international standards, and optimizing performance across wind power projects. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in O&M management, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to foster cross-cultural collaboration in a complex and evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: Build, manage, and lead an international O&M team, overseeing recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and strategic deployment of personnel to ensure operational efficiency and high standards of service delivery.
• Training & Knowledge Enhancement: Organize and facilitate team training sessions and technical exchange programs to elevate the team’s technical expertise, operational skills, and industry knowledge, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Safety & Compliance Management: Ensure all O&M operations adhere to rigorous international safety standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement a robust safety management system to mitigate risks and promote a culture of safety across all projects.
• Quality Assurance & Control: Establish and enforce comprehensive quality control measures to guarantee the reliability, efficiency, and longevity of O&M operations, aligning with industry best practices and organizational objectives.
• Budget & Cost Optimization: Prepare, monitor, and control the O&M budget with a focus on cost efficiency. Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimization without compromising operational integrity.
• Supplier & Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with international suppliers and service providers to secure high-quality resources and ensure uninterrupted O&M operations. Engage proactively with local government authorities, grid companies, and other stakeholders to foster a supportive and compliant operational environment.
• Performance Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret O&M data to evaluate wind farm performance. Generate detailed reports and actionable recommendations to enhance operational strategies and decision-making processes.
• Strategic Decision-Making: Leverage data-driven insights to refine O&M strategies, improve asset performance, and align operational activities with broader business goals.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in O&M management for wind power projects, with a preference for candidates with international project experience in diverse operational environments.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth familiarity with international O&M standards, regulations, and industry practices specific to the wind power sector.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; additional proficiency in international languages such as French, Arabic, or Spanish is highly advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in O&M management software and analytical tools to streamline operations, monitor performance, and generate actionable insights.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong leadership, team management, and cross-cultural communication skills to effectively motivate and coordinate a multicultural workforce.
• Adaptability & Resilience: Demonstrated ability to thrive in dynamic and challenging environments, adapting to evolving project demands, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
