Key Responsibilities

The Senior Finance Specialist will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development, monitoring, and execution of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts. Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and resource allocation.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory standards. Act as a liaison with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth audit processes and mitigate compliance risks.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making, including investment analysis, pricing strategies, and financial risk management.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and implement best practices to enhance accuracy, speed, and scalability. Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and human resources, to ensure seamless financial integration across the organization. Communicate financial insights clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor junior finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Lead by example in promoting ethical financial practices and accountability.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance or leadership role. Experience in the engineering, construction, or technical services sector is a strong advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power BI). Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools is essential.
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills to present complex financial information in an accessible manner.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and drive cross-functional initiatives. A proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and innovation.
• Language & Cultural Competency: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
