Senior Resident Engineer

About the Role

EVARA Engineering is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Senior Resident Engineer to oversee critical site supervision and compliance for a prestigious hospital project located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional capable of leading all construction activities—from initial groundwork to final testing, commissioning, and project handover—while ensuring adherence to stringent technical, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in large-scale construction projects, with a proven track record in hospital infrastructure development, and will serve as the primary technical liaison between the project team, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership and Supervision: Direct, manage, and supervise all construction phases, including civil works, architectural finishes, specialized hospital fit-outs, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. Ensure seamless execution from project inception through to final testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Project Execution and Compliance: Drive project delivery in strict alignment with approved baseline schedules, budgets, and key milestones. Monitor progress meticulously, identify variances promptly, and develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to address deviations from the plan.
• Technical Oversight and Problem Resolution: Evaluate contractor performance rigorously, review complex shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals. Proactively identify and resolve technical, structural, and site-related engineering challenges to maintain project integrity and quality standards.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Leadership: Champion and enforce rigorous HSE standards across the construction site, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. Implement best practices to mitigate risks and promote a culture of safety among all personnel.
• Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Act as the primary technical contact on-site, responsible for preparing detailed progress reports and delivering clear, concise updates to senior management, clients, and stakeholders. Facilitate transparent communication to ensure alignment on project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this senior-level position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in construction supervision, with a demonstrated history of successfully delivering complex hospital projects. Hands-on involvement in large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of civil, architectural, and MEP systems, with a strong understanding of hospital-specific fit-out requirements. Familiarity with international construction standards and regulatory compliance is essential.
• Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and foster collaborative working relationships. Strong written and verbal communication abilities to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Preferred Qualifications: A background in architecture or related disciplines is advantageous, providing additional insight into design implementation and coordination.
