Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Developer to join our dynamic technology team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust enterprise database solutions that power our mission-critical banking applications. Key Responsibilities

The Database Developer will play a pivotal role in the following areas:

• Database Design & Development: Design, develop, and maintain a wide range of database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages, to support business-critical applications.
• Query Optimization & Performance Tuning: Develop and optimize SQL queries to enhance performance, scalability, and responsiveness, ensuring seamless operations even under high transaction volumes.
• Data Integration & ETL Solutions: Create and maintain efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data migration solutions to facilitate seamless data flow across systems.
• Database Administration & Maintenance: Perform routine database administration tasks, including performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting, to maintain optimal system health.
• Application Support & Collaboration: Work closely with application development teams to provide expert guidance on database design, implementation, and integration, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Data Security & Compliance: Ensure the integrity, security, availability, and compliance of databases with stringent banking standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Documentation & Technical Specifications: Develop and maintain comprehensive database documentation, technical specifications, and data dictionaries to support knowledge sharing and operational transparency.
• Backup, Recovery & Disaster Management: Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and minimize downtime in the event of disruptions.
• System Monitoring & Capacity Planning: Proactively monitor database health, performance metrics, and capacity utilization to anticipate and address potential issues before they impact operations.
• Database Upgrades & Migrations: Participate in database upgrades, patching, and environment migrations to ensure systems remain current, secure, and aligned with business needs.
• Issue Resolution & Support: Troubleshoot production issues with precision and provide timely resolutions to minimize operational disruptions and maintain service reliability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with infrastructure, application, and business teams to deliver integrated database solutions that align with organizational objectives and drive innovation.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in database development and administration, with a proven track record in designing and managing enterprise-level database solutions.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, along with strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database programming concepts.
• Performance Optimization: Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high efficiency and scalability.
• Security & Compliance: Solid understanding of database security best practices, backup and recovery strategies, and high availability solutions to protect sensitive financial data.
• Data Integration: Familiarity with data integration tools and ETL processes is a plus, enabling seamless data flow across disparate systems.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience within the banking or financial services sector is highly advantageous, given the specialized nature of the role and regulatory requirements.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities, coupled with strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
